Kenema Hospital Library

Key Information

Kenema Hospital Library is our youngest library. Having opened to users in July 2018, the library was officially opened on 22nd November 2018.

This library runs as a collaboration between AHL, the Hospital Management Team and with the Eastern Polytechnic. The Hospital Management Team gave a room within Kenema Hospital, and AHL librarians and our library coordinator assisted in setting up this space, implementing library procedures, and establishing the new librarian.

We are delighted to introduce Joel (at the back, on the right), Kenema Hospital Library's librarian, who has been trained in the AHL system by our staff in-country. Welcome to the team, Joel!

Kenema Government Hospital and AHL successfully applied for books from Health Books International through the 2017 BMA Information Fund. These stock the library shelves, along with donated books from Oxford Book Transplant and a generous donation of resources from Book Aid International.
