Kenema Hospital Library opened to users in July 2018 and was officially opened on 22nd November 2018.
Kenema Government Hospital and AHL successfully applied to the 2017 BMA Information Fund for books from Health Books International, and these stock the library shelves along with donated books from Oxford Book Transplant, and a generous donation of books from Book Aid International.
The library has been opened in collaboration with the Hospital Management Team and with the Eastern Polytechnic. The Hospital Management Team have given a room for the library, and the existing AHL librarians and library coordinator assisted the new librarian in the set-up. The new librarian Joel (in photo to left) has been trained in the AHL system by AHL staff in-country.
